FLÚOR NA ÁGUA SUBTERRÂNEA DE FEIRA DA MATA E SANTANA (BA): COMPARAÇÃO DOS TEORES DO FLUORETO E SAÚDE

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo investigar a composição química das águas subterrâneas dos municípios de Feira da Mata e de Santana, no oeste da Bahia, com ênfase na distribuição das concentrações do flúor. Foram coletadas águas em quinze poços perfurados nas rochas pelito-carbonáticas do Grupo Bambuí, no ano de 2012. As variáveis físico-químicas foram mensuradas in situ, por meio de sonda multiparâmetros. As análises dos cátions deram-se por ICP-OES e dos ânions por titrimetria, espectrofotometria e colorimetria (SPANSD) (F-). No município de Feira da Mata, ocorreram águas bicarbonatadas cálcicas (87%) e bicarbonatadas sódicas (13%), em que os níveis do fluoreto excederam o limite de potabilidade do fluoreto para 13% dos poços. No município de Santana, foram representativas as águas bicarbonatadas cálcicas ou mistas cálcicas (63%) e bicarbonatadas sódicas (23%), em que os níveis do fluoreto excederam o limite de potabilidade para 40% dos poços. A distribuição dos níveis de flúor nas águas subterrâneas dos municípios de Feira da Mata e Santana indica que o monitoramento da qualidade dessas e a vigilância epidemiológica da cárie ou fluorose dentária devam ser priorizados.Downloads
