Comportamento do mercúrio e outros elementos-traço em solos lateríticos da província aurífera do Tapajós
Abstract
Os diferentes horizontes de perfis de solo lateríticos provenientes de dois garimpos da Província Tapajós foram analisados para ferro, mercúrio e outros elementos-traço. No Garimpo Fazenda Pison, o perfil consiste, da base para o topo, dos seguintes horizontes: saprolito, zona de transição, couraça ferruginosa e latossolo. Os teores de Hg estão na faixa de 18-117 ppb no saprolito, 77-123 ppb na zona de transição, 188-385 ppb na couraça e 100-222 ppb no latossolo. No Garimpo Porquinho, o perfil compreende um horizonte de saprolito (11-44 ppb Hg) coberto por latossolo (85-103 ppb Hg). Para os dois garimpos, um estudo comparativo do comportamento do Hg em relação aos outros elementos analisados mostrou que, nos horizontes superficiais dos perfis, há perda de As, Sb, V, Mo e Sc e ganhos de Hg.
